BJA FY 21 Second Chance Act Pay for Success Initiative
The Department of Justice is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights, increases access to justice, supports crime victims, protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. Pay for Success is performance-based and outcomes-based programming that ties payment for services to reaching agreed upon goals. Under this initiative, services that may be purchased include permanent supportive and recovery housing, as well as other types of reentry services which are tailored to individuals leaving incarceration, particularly those with substance use disorders.
