Reducing the Climate Impact of the Transportation Sector
The transportation sector contributes the largest portion of total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, about thirty percent, with passenger vehicles accounting for about sixty percent of transportation emission. As GHGs trap heat and contribute to a warming climate, we can see that transitioning vehicles to cleaner energy sources can minimize the harmful climate impact of the transportation sector.
