Nature and Context

Finding a sustainable way to purify water for families without access to clean, warm water can save millions of lives. In America alone 1.6 million people don't have access to clean water or indoor plumbing. This means families here, and abroad, need help getting what most people believe is a basic human right: access to clean water.

Ideas Description

The Solvatten is a portable, combined water treatment and solar water heater system that can be used in homes where water resources are scarce and prone to contamination. By making 75-degree warm water available to all, the inventors hope that the Solvatten unit will be used for a number of household and hygiene purposes including cooking, hand washing, bathing and domestic cleaning.
