Modernizing Sewage Treatment Systems Nationwide
Wastewater treatment facilities in the United States process about 34 billion gallons of wastewater per day. These facilities reduce pollutants before discharging the treated waters back into the waterways. According to EPA estimates, the aging and easily overwhelmed sewage treatment systems release over 850 billion gallons of untreated wastewater into the waterways each year.
