Decreasing Atmospheric Methane Levels
Preliminary data show an increase in the average level of methane in the atmosphere by 11.54 parts per billion (ppb) in 2019, the largest such increase in five years. Agriculture, natural gas production, and wetland destruction all contribute to methane release. The atmospheric science community promotes the use of leak capturing equipment as well as decreasing the consumption of cattle products.
