Nature and Context help
The use of SMS for information access and dissemination has been well documented in Global Health fields. However, most of the work on maternal health has focused on reaching pregnant women at clinics or at home through community health workers. Systems that reach out directly to mothers are increasingly common. Studies suggest that reaching out to male partners during prenatal care and about family planning decision making may improve outcomes, but few interventions have included them.
