Sustaining AIDS Awareness
Encouraging young people in places where AIDS is common to organize community events and dialogues to help raise awareness about the prevention of the disease and supporting them with online materials will ensure the discussion about this deadly disease is sustained. An estimated 1.2 million people in the United States had HIV at the end of 2018, the most recent year for which this information is available. Of those people, about 14%, or 1 in 7, did not know they had HIV. This is why regular testing is so important. Each new generation must take up the fight to make sure the following generations remain educated, safe and healthy for years to come.
Social Software #ACT2015 is a project run by The PACT and UNAIDS, launched in 2013. The project aims to encourage young people in places where AIDS is common to organize community events and dialogues to help raise awareness about the prevention of the disease, supporting them with online materials.
