Proper Needles Disposal Options for Patients
Improper disposal of sharps puts a wide range of people such as sanitation workers, janitors, housekeepers, and children at risk for injury or the transmittal of diseases such as HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, tetanus and syphilis, and in rare cases diseases. The lack of federal regulations for needle disposal means that much of the responsibility for proper disposal falls on patients using injection drugs.
