Empowering citizens to solve hit and run crimes
Of the thousands of hit and run crashes each year, only twelve percent of those cases are solved, and an even smaller number of those cases make it to court. The general public could be trained to help monitor and accurately play witness to some of these accidents. With the help of technology, people could report on hit and runs more often, aiding police officials.
Medina Alert aims to help find the suspect(s) in hit and runs involving serious bodily injury and/or fatalities. The user receives push notifications when an alert is activated by law enforcement. The app has many features, including a news section, maps of all solved and unsolved hit and runs, and maps of all police stations in Denver and throughout the state.
