the problem
Nature and Context help
For over the past two decades there has been a tremendous amount of work on understanding and addressing security and privacy needs of technology users. Much of this work, however, has been focused on users in developed regions, such as North America and Europe, that contain only 19% of the world’s population. For the majority of the world’s population, which lives in developing regions, their use of technology, and information production, consumption, and sharing practices are significantly different from those living in developed regions.
