Improving Accessibility of Resource Guides for Homeless Populations

Many shelters and homeless programs have resources and helpful information for the homeless population. Resources range from mental health to affordable housing. However, if an individual has never been to a specific shelter, they have no idea what resources the shelter can provide. Many of the resources available can have a huge impact on an individual, but the limited reach is detrimental.

Ideas Description

Little Help Book is a digital version of White Bird Clinic's Little Help book--one of the most detailed and comprehensive guides of human and social services in the Eugene and Springfield, Oregon and a little bit beyond that. The online version is currently allows service providers to update and customize the information about their resources.

Shelter App, Inc. is an All-volunteer Non-Profit Organization whose mission is to help Homeless and low-income families connect to services. The app has more than 6,800 resources for people in need and has been downloaded/used by more than 100,000 users over the past 2 1/2 years.
