Nature and Context

Creating citizen science platforms, a place where professional scientists can enlist the help of hundreds of thousands of volunteers to pursue real scientific research, is a way to involve thousands of volunteers interested in saving the planet. Identifying, classifying, and labeling images can all be done remotely, and take manpower most fields of research can't supply alone. Volunteers willing to crowdsource images and analyze data from those images could help expedite research in many areas of interest.
