Nature and Context help
Global product streams and vast amounts of waste have a direct impact on environmental degradation, community health and equity. In the United States, although we are responsible for only 4 percent of global production, we generate 30 percent of the planet’s waste. Individually, Americans toss 1,650 pounds of garbage per person per year, averaging 4.6 pounds per person per day.
