Helping analyze whether food is safe to eat
Even the most trained nose can have a hard time telling if food is spoiled. This, hygiene and poor food handling practices lead to thousands of Americans getting sick every day. Having a device that can detect whether food is safe to eat, based off of chemicals, moisture, etc., could help keep Americans healthy, and reduce food waste.
FoodSniffer analyses chemicals emitted by food to tell you whether it's safe to eat. The gadget uses sensors to 'smell' temperature, humidity, ammonia and other potentially dangerous organic compounds present in food. It then sends the results of whether it's safe to eat, starting to spoil or spoiled to a user's smartphone.
