These comprehensive ANS Management Plans identify technical, enforcement, or financial assistance activities needed to eliminate or reduce the environmental and public health and safety risks associated with ANS. ANS Management Plans focus on feasible, cost-effective management practices and measures to be undertaken by States to prevent and control ANS infestations in an environmentally sound manner. Once an ANS Management Plan is reviewed and approved by the ANS Task Force, the Act authorizes the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) to provide cost-share grants for the implementation of the approved plans. Program has a two-stage application process (see sections D2 and E2, for more details). Stage One - the “Preliminary National Review” - is managed by the Service Headquarters office.
