Our approach is grounded in the basics of cultural-responsiveness, with the belief that familiar and safe learning environments inspire learning.

Learning Made Almost Fun

We started with test prep, because we know it's anxiety-inducing for many low-income students/students of color. Expensive, long text books designed to drill practice problems for hours are not designed for the students who need it the most. We're expanding our content into Math & ELA fundamentals, with the goal of building a library of almost fun resources designed for BIPOC/low-income students.

A lot of students in my high school were somewhat apathetic to rigorous math and science subjects and didn't feel like they related to their everyday lives. [Almost Fun] would've allowed them to engage more with what they were learning, and when you're engaged you retain more of what you're learning.
