Transfernation is NYC's First On-Demand Food Rescue Service

Transfernation is NYC's first on-demand food rescue service. Using our iOS app, you can request a pickup for untouched extra food. We'll take it off your hands and to the closest local feeding program. We take care of all the messy logistics because half your day should not be spent trying to figure out who wants your extra food and how to get it to them. That's our job.

Transfernation

We’re headed towards a societal and environmental catastrophe, especially in cities. We currently pick up between 1.8-2.26 metric tons a week from corporate cafeterias and offices. For me, these trash bags of food piled high on sidewalks represent the absence of a system.

The Resolution Project

With so many private corporate kitchens and events, there is tremendous opportunity to move food from a place where it is viewed as waste to a place where it is needed. Their vision and energy to take on a persistent social ill — hunger — inspires me to keep doing everything I can to support young leaders like them.
